“The best way to find yourself is to see yourself in the service of others.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
Below are charities and organizations that help me to find myself by giving and supporting literacy, health care, education, justice, community, and joy. Find yourself.
East Bay Book Project
East Bay Children’s Book Project helps build literacy by putting books into the hands of children who have little or no access to them. Working through individuals and organizations who help children in need, we have given out more than a million free books since opening our doors in May 2005.
Room to Read
Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
